The steps in your vintage wedding dress project

At Studio Terre Blanche, we are committed to perpetuating artisanal skills and enhancing natural materials and exceptional fabrics, such as silk, to offer you unique pieces full of history so that you can write your own.

On average, it takes 6 months from the time your measurements are taken to the delivery of your custom-made dress. For a simple alteration, it takes an average of 3 months.

To help you understand our personalization and resizing processes, we detail them below.

The starting point

1. Love at first sight and taking action

After your first appointment to discover our vintage dresses, you fell in love with one of our pieces.

So we begin the personalization of your dress together.

We take all your measurements. We will pay particular attention to your wishes: what do you want to highlight? what do you want to cover? what will your heel height be? are you looking for exceptional fabrics? …

These measurements are crucial and the starting point for your vintage wedding dress project.

The magic of sewing

2. The fittings

We have begun customizing your dress according to your wishes and measurements. At this stage, the finishing touches are not yet complete, and this allows us to approve the alterations.

For a custom dress project, you should expect an average of four fittings until you are satisfied with the result. This is because we work iteratively on our existing dress to avoid damaging it.

We emphasize our artisanal expertise.

For resizing, you should expect an average of 2 fittings until you get a result that suits you.

The finishing touch

3. Trying on shoes

The finishing touches are complete! At this stage, we mark the points for the final hem and train. We will ask you to bring your shoes to ensure that the length of your wedding dress is perfectly adjusted for your big day.

Your dress is ready!

4. The final fitting

Your wedding dress is ready. We ask that you come in for one last fitting and you can leave with your dress in a garment bag.
